Chittoor: The management of Apollo Group of Hospitals, which took over the Chittoor Government Hospital, has decided not to collect user charges from the patients in any form, said Sangita Reddy, Vice-President, Apollo Institute of Medical Services and Research. To check the progress in various faculties in the government hospital, Sangita Reddy visited medical wards on Saturday and expressed her satisfaction.

Later, she met Dr Pandurangaiah, superintendent and Dr Sadhya, resident medical officer, Chittoor Government Hospital, and reviewed the development activities. She instructed the Apollo Hospital coordinator, Chittoor, to speed up the works to ensure fullfledged medicare.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Saturday, Sangita Reddy made it clear that it would be collective effort of Chittoor Government Hospital and the Apollo Group of Hospitals for bringing health care of international standards to the patients.

She further stated that the Chittoor Government Hospital has been upgraded by establishing laboratories, respiratory centre, operation theatres, ICU units with specialists. She said that the Union Minister of Health and Family Planning has accorded permission to run Apollo Medical College during 2016-17 in which number of students would be provided medical seats as per the MCI regulations.

She exuded confidence that Chittoor city would be hub of medical institutions in future. She said that she would be visiting Chittoor Government Hospital frequently in order to assess the development as per the prescribed standards and parameters.
