Vijaya Bank nets `382 crore

Visakhapatnam: The Vijaya Bank has been giving due focus to the State of Andhra Pradesh in providing best customer service by expanding its business and the bank earned a net profit of Rs 382 crore in the 2015-16, said bank Executive Director B S Rama Rao.

The Executive Director who recently opened two bank branches at Pendurti in Vizag district and Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district, said the bank has 189 branches and 162 ATMs in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and the total business of both the States put together at Rs 17,381 crore at the end of June this year.

He informed that the Vijaya Bank’s total business as on June 30, 2016 was at Rs 2,17,839 crore with Rs 1,27,649 crore deposits and Rs 90,199 crore advances. He said the bank’s Retail Lending Portfolio has recorded 25.93 per cent during 2015-16 fiscal which was the highest among the public sector banks and the bank’s NPA level was the best in the country. Stating that the bank has opened 246 branches in the financial year 2015-16 in the country, he said it was the highest record for the bank compared to previous years.

The bank has also been fulfilling its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, he added.
