Short film to be made on Savithri

Savithri Kala Peetham is all set to make a short film on the life of veteran actress Savithri and titled as ‘Savithi-Deepam’. The Kala Peetham organised an honourary shoot at a private hotel in the city on Sunday. Former actress Vanisri gave a clap to the shoot and performed pooja.

Speaking on the occasion, Vanisri said that she has got a very special bond with Savithri and treated her like a mother. She also said that doing a film on Savithri’s life is just a tribute to the film industry. She congratulated the artists who were taking part in the short film and wished good luck.

The short film would be produced by Paruchuri Vijayalakshmi and Prabhala Srinivas, honorary president of Savithri Kala Peetham. The model turned actress Priyanka is taking the lead role of Savithri. Many other theatre artists and members of Savithri Kala Peetham took part in the event.
