Two girls drowned in Srisailam Canal

Two girls were drowned after falling into the Srisailam Right Bank Canal (SRBC) on Tuesday. According to sources, Nasrat (14), and Basheera (15), both residents of Banaganapalle had gone to the canal to play.

One of the girls accidentally fell into the canal and noticing this, her friend tried to pull her out. In the process, she was also pulled into the canal and both of them were swept away by the strong currents.
On learning about the incident, the families of the girls rushed to the spot along with the Banaganapalle police and a search operation was initiated. The bodies are yet to be recovered. The girls were studying in class VIII and IX respectively.
