After reviewing the arrangements made at the AU Convocation Hall from where the Chief Minister will launch the digital classes in some of the government-run schools in the State on Thursday, Ganta told reporters that the government is committed to launch digital classes in all the 44,385 government schools in the State with a project cost of Rs 100 crore.  

Visakhapatnam: Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that government will introduce digital classrooms in 5,000 schools across the State by November-end with a cost of Rs 100 crore.

After reviewing the arrangements made at the AU Convocation Hall from where the Chief Minister will launch the digital classes in some of the government-run schools in the State on Thursday, Ganta told reporters that the government is committed to launch digital classes in all the 44,385 government schools in the State with a project cost of Rs 100 crore.

He informed that of the total Rs 100 crore project, 70 per cent will be borne by the State government and the rest by the TANA. In the first phase, digital classes will be introduced in 5,000 schools and as a part of it, the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the project in 1,212 government schools from here of which 319 schools are from Vizag district alone, he added.

Earlier, the Minister spoke to the HMs, faculty members and students of ZP high school, Anandapuram, ZP Girls high school, Tanam (Paravada) and government high school, Pendurti through video conference for some time. Ganta said that the CM and HMs will talk to the students on Thursday for some time to rule out any technical snag.

He also instructed to keep meritorious students ready to talk with the CM and make them aware of the importance of digitisation. Among others, Government Special Representative in USA Komati Jayaram, AU Vice Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao, Collector Praveen Kumar, Joint Collector -2 D V Reddy, DEO M V Krishna Reddy and District Information Officer Y V KS R Murty were present.
