Visakhapatnam: Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swacch Bharat mission, members of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation have taken up a cleaning mission titled ‘Swachatha se Divyata Tak’, from October 2 to November 23, and so far, over 2.4 lakh man hours of service was rendered across India and over 45,000 hours of cleaning was done by devotees across the two Telugu States, said HJ Dora, director of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Trust, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, at Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar School here on Tuesday.

Through nationwide programmes like Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini, the trust has been providing hi-tech education at the doorstep of schools in remote areas in the country. This is being done to reduce the number of school dropouts and make the underprivileged children learn new trends in modern education on a par with corporate schools. The trust has provided new learning aids, smart TVs and guidance through eminent teachers,” said Dora.
He said that as part of another nationwide programme, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyothi, over 1,000 government schools will be adopted and provided with necessary infrastructure and teaching aids, with special emphasis on health and hygiene.The focus would be on protecting the rich Indian cultural heritage by inspiring children, he said.Dora recalled Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings, and said that spirituality should begin in everyone’s life at an early age for one’s own peace, which would subsequently bring peace in the family, nation and the world.
