During a review meeting with the nodal officers here on Monday, Vijay Mohan said that as part of Swachh Andhra Pradesh, every Gram Panchayat should be transformed into to garbage-free village.
Kurnool: District Collector Ch Vijay Mohan has instructed the mandal nodal officers to prepare a plan to make villages garbage-free. “On every Saturday, officials have to select a village from the mandal concerned and strive to make it clean and hygienic under the ‘Domalapai Danda Yatra’ programme,” he said.
During a review meeting with the nodal officers here on Monday, Vijay Mohan said that as part of Swachh Andhra Pradesh, every Gram Panchayat should be transformed into to garbage-free village.
To know about the requirements in the village, the officials should visit the village every Saturday,” he said. Permission would be given if the requirements pertaining to the village were brought to his notice through a proposal, he said. He asked the nodal officers to complete laying of CC roads and construction of drainage system in every village by March next year.
He said at least 1,000 saplings should be planted in every Gram Panchayat and tree guards would be supplied to protect the saplings. Nodal officers should give priority to soaking pits and garbage collection, he said.
He directed the nodal officers to interact with the officials concerned through video conference every Friday evening on the works to be taken up on Saturday. He asked the officials to bring to his notice land issues pertaining to the public and he would suggest solutions on the evening of every Monday. He said he would also pursue electricity connections and pending bills.
He instructed in-charge District Sports Development Officer (DSDO) to facilitate a sports court at every office. The Collector said that Gargeyapuram pond was being developed so that people could visit it during Kartheeka Masam. He said a town forest was also being developed at cost of Rs 3 crore. Joint Collector C Hari Kiran, Joint Collector-2 Rama Swamy and others were present.
