Guntur: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Vijayawada, deputy general manager, Srinivasa Rao inaugurated the ‘Reflective
Stickering’ campaign in Guntur city on Monday aimed at reducing accidental deaths on the national highways. NHAI and police officials
are implementing the project on a pilot basis in Guntur. Addressing the gathering, Srinivasa Rao stressed on the need to reduce
accidental deaths on the highway and said NHAI will take steps to ensure that stationery vehicles on the highways are identified.

Additional SP Bhaskar Rao said that police officials have taken steps to check road accidents on the highways by curbing liquor sales on
the highways. He further said that they were conducting tests to check drunken-driving to reduce accidents and enforcing compulsory
helmet for bike riders and added that they were conducting awareness camps on the need to wear helmets to avoid accidental deaths. He
sought the co-operation of the public in this regard. Guntur Traffic DSP K Srinivasa Rao and police officials were present.
