ACB arrests corrupt VRO
A Village Revenue Officer (VRO) was caught by Anti-corruption bureau personnel while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 for issuing Pattadar
Nellimarla: A Village Revenue Officer (VRO) was caught by Anti-corruption bureau personnel while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 for issuing Pattadar pass books to a farmer, on Monday. According to ACB DSP Lakshmipathi, L Appararaju of AT Agraharam village in Nellimarla Mandal had applied to VRO Yesu Babu for pattadar passbooks for his lands.
With the VRO not responding for many months, Apparaju had complained to the tahsildar who directed the VRO to issue the necessary pass books to Apparaju. The VRO then demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Apparaju who paid him half the amount and then informed the ACB. While Yesu Babu was accepting the remaining amount, he was caught red-handed by ACB Inspectors K Ramesh and Lakshmoji. The VRO was arrested and sent to remand.
