Kurnool: District Superintendent of Police (SP) Ake Ravi Krishna urged the bankers to cooperate with the customers, who are thronging banks to exchange old currency notes. He accompanied with his wife Parvathi Devi visited the Andhra Bank at Gayathri Estate and exchanged currency notes by showing Aadhaar as proof and signing on the requisition form. Speaking on the occasion, Ravi Krishna said security has been beefed up in all branches across the district. Police personnel are discharging duties at 379 branches, he added.

The SP said the banks will function during Saturdays and Sundays besides holidays. Ravi Krishna handed over a 2,000 rupee note to the couple Konda Geetha Devi and Konda Murthy as a token of gift on the occasion of their daughter’s marriage. The Konda couple complained about the problem in drawing the amount for their daughter’s marriage. He urged the bank authorities to approach amicably with the customers who have come to the bank.

He advised the account holders to come with their Aadhaar cards and exchange Rs 500 and 1,000 notes. The bank authorities of Budwara Peta extended their gratitude for giving protection. Andhra Bank Manager Janardhan Rao, DSP DV Ramana Murthy, Circle Inspectors Maheshwar Reddy, Madhusudhan Rao and bank officials were present.
