Reviewing the flood relief operations with officials here on Monday, the Chief Minister observed that nearly 98 tmc ft of rain water is expected from cyclone and asked to take steps to preserve it.
Making it clear that relief and rehabilitation operations should be taken up without any delay, Naidu instructed the officials to restore power supply and remove the fallen trees immediately.
The transportation should be restored within hours by hard work and dedication, he said and directed the officials to work with responsibility to earn the confidence of people.
Warning against breaking out of seasonal diseases, he asked the officials to take preventive steps and hold health camps, supply adequate quantity of medicine to the affected people.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister appreciated the officials for alerting the 82,000 fishermen not to venture into the sea. He suggested officials to focus on geotagging electric poles, fallen trees.
He said the government could not do the same at the time of Hudhud cyclone. The APTransco officials informed Naidu that nearly 3,000 electric poles were shifted to Sullurupet, Kavali in Nellore district and 205 poles were shifted to Prakasam district for speedy replacement of damaged poles.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to create awareness among the people on preserving rain waters for future needs. The officials were directed to prepare reports on cyclone rain waters, evaporation and soil moisture.
