Youth drowns in water pond
A 21-year-old youth drowned and died in a water tank while trying to bring back his buffaloes at Rayannapalem village of Pedavegi Mandal in West Godavari district on Sunday morning.
Eluru: A 21-year-old youth drowned and died in a water tank while trying to bring back his buffaloes at Rayannapalem village of Pedavegi Mandal in West Godavari district on Sunday morning.
According to Police, Jangumilli Rajesh (21), who was studying B.Com final year in Sir CR Reddy College, Eluru, took the buffaloes for a bath to Bommarajukunta water tank near Rayannapalem village in Pedavegi mandal. However, as the buffaloes did not come out of the water pond, he tried to bring them back. As the water pond was very deep, he drowned in it. Even though, people around tried to rescue him but it went in vain. His body was fished out from the pond in the afternoon. His body was sent to postmortem to Eluru Government hospital.
Rajesh was the only son of Jangumilli Srinivasa Rao, Dhanalakshmi of Rayannapalem village. Due to poverty, he discontinued his studies for some time to work in the farm fields. Later recently he joined the B.Com final year class to complete the education and continued to help his parents by attending the farm works during holidays. YSRCP Denduluru Constituency convenor Kotharu Ramachandra Rao, TDP Leader Parvataneni Prabhakar, MPTC member Chebathina Usha Srinivasa Rao reached the village and consoled the parents.
