Damaged flag hoisted on R-Day

Eluru: In an unfortunate incident, a National flag on Republic Day was observed furled in the air with a hole on it.

According to sources, the incident took place in at at Duggirala Bypass road where a flag-hoisting programme was held, as a part of Republic Day celebrations.

Sources said that politicians and police officers had gathered to celebrate and unfurled the flag which accidently came into contact with a transformer leaving a hole on the flag. It is to mention that, no National flag with a damage or faded color can be hoisted but it can be replaced with a new one immediately.

It was certainly a sad situation that the officials had observed the damaged flag hoisted in air but failed to replace it with a new one.
