Vijayawada: Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) founder chairman Milind Kamble inaugurated the Vijayawada Chapter of the DICCI here on Thursday.

Dalit entrepreneurs from all 13 districts attended the inauguration event organised in a hotel. The Chairman appointed co-ordinators for 13 districts to promote entrepreneurial skills among the Dalits.

Addressing the gathering after inauguration of Vijayawada Chapter, he said that he was happy to be in the Sunrise State of Andhra Pradesh.

He said the Govt. of AP is committed to all- round development and the policies adopted are aiming at inclusive growth.

He said ‘I must mention the recent landmark GOs issued by the Industries and Commerce Dept of the Government of Andhra Pradesh which are aimed at encouraging the SC/ST entrepreneurs.

He further said ‘While encouraging new entrepreneurs with loan facility for the margin money at a nominal interest, the govt. has also issued a GO to support the existing SC/ST entrepreneurs by asking the Govt.

organisations and the PSUs to procure at least 4 per cent from the SC/ST entrepreneurs.

He said the Government is giving subsidy for Contractorship development, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship development to Dalit entrepreneurs.

The government is also reimbursing Rs. 3 lakh apart from paying the boarding and lodging expenses for those who wish to join management courses in reputed institutions.

Dalit entrepreneurs Narra Ravi Kumar, M Madusudhana Rao, Raja Naik, Suresh and others were present.
