Eluru: In a ghastly incident, a son brutally killed his father by suffocating him with a pillow at Kothagudem village in Dubacharla Panchayati of Nallajerla mandal, according to police here on Friday.
Eluru: In a ghastly incident, a son brutally killed his father by suffocating him with a pillow at Kothagudem village in Dubacharla Panchayati of Nallajerla mandal, according to police here on Friday.
Police said that Sikka Krishna Murthy(50) and his wife Venkata Ramana who were residing at Kothagudem village a hamlet of Dubacharla Panchayati in Nallajerla mandal, adopted his nephew Venkata Durga Rao and later got him married to Venkata Lakshmi and they had two children.
Krishnamurthy’s wife Venkataramana died two years ago and he was residing with his Durga Rao and daughter-in-law Venkatalakshmi and two children.
Krishna Murthy, his son Durga Rao were working as daily wage workers in their village. On January 11, Durga Rao and his wife mixed sedative tablet in the liquor glass of Murthy who fell unconscious.
Both Durga and his wife took a pillow and suffocated Krishna Murthy to death. Later, in the early hours of January 12, the couple took the body on a motorcycle to Togummi in Kovvuru rural mandal and threw it on the banks of River Godavari.
After four days, on January 15, Durgarao returned to Togummi and found his father’s body untouched. He poured kerosene and burnt his body down.
Later, he lodged a complaint with Anantapalli police on January 21 stating that his father was missing from January 13 when he along with his wife where not at home.
The police registered a missing case and Durga Rao also published an advertisement in newspaper.
The villagers, who suspected Durga Rao, informed police that both father and son were not on good terms and were always at loggerheads. The police immediately took Durgarao into their custody on Friday.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that he killed his father with the help of his wife Venkatalakshmi with a pillow.
He told police that his father Krishna Murthy was abusing and harassing his wife Venkatalakshmi for sexual favours.
Unable to bear the harassment, the couple decided to kill Krishna Murthy, the couple are in custody now.
