The High Court at Hyderabad on Tuesday disposed of a batch of writ petitions filed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Bharathi Reddy and other companies with a direction to the Enforcement Directorate not to take any coercive steps against the petitioners.

Justice Ramalingehswar Rao gave this order, while hearing the petitioners, who had questioned the action of the Enforcement Directorate in proceeding to take possession of various properties, both moveable and immoveable, that were earlier attached by it as money falling within the definition of “money laundering.”

It may be recalled that earlier the division bench of the High Court had granted interim orders till Tuesday and had directed the single judge of the court to hear the matter. Justice Ramalingeshwar Rao observed that it would be in the interest of justice that no coercive steps are taken till February 10 as the statutory appeals were being heard on February 7.
