Amaravati: Roads and Buildings minister Ch Ayyannapatrudu directed the superintending engineers concerned to immediately resolve the pending issues pertaining to land acquisition for construction of roads after bringing them to the notice of the government.

While addressing a review meeting at his chamber in Secretariat on Thursday, the minister asked the SEs and other officials to ensure laying of roads using plastic material. He recalled that about 27 km long roads were built by panchayat raj department in 2016-17 using plastic material. He directed them to give preference to complete the bridges which have already made progress by 60 percent.

While laying stress on strengthening 5,500 km long highways which were transferred to R&B from panchayat raj, he asked the officials to complete the filling of potholes and other repair works on the state highways and district main highways by June 15 for which Rs 2 crore has been allotted, minister said.

Ayyannapatrudu clarified that R&B department will take up the maintenance of the district roads which were categorized as A, B,C,D under State Road Maintenance System. He asked the officials to take up tendering process in the off season and to take up construction work during the season which will avoid delay in the work process.
