Rupees 3.5 lakh worth gold ornaments seized; 3 arrested
II town and CCS police nabbed three thieves here on Wednesday, who involved in various robbery cases in the city limits, and recovered Rs 3.5 lakh worth gold ornaments from them. The accused were identified as Manikanta, Cheepurupalli Sai and S Vijay Kumar.
Nellore: II town and CCS police nabbed three thieves here on Wednesday, who involved in various robbery cases in the city limits, and recovered Rs 3.5 lakh worth gold ornaments from them. The accused were identified as Manikanta, Cheepurupalli Sai and S Vijay Kumar. According to CCS DSP M Balasundaram and II Town Circle Inspector K Ramakrishna, Manikanta, Sai and Vijaykumar had robbed four sovereigns of gold chain and two s sovereigns of gold stone bangles in the house of Pedeti Ramalakshmamma on May 6.
In another two cases, the trio robbed three sovereigns of gold chain from Kommuru Mohan at Atmakur bus stand on May 16 and also a gold chain in a house in I town police station limits. On receiving complaints from the victims, CCS and II Town Police launched an investigation. The police found the trio moving suspiciously at Atmakur bus stand and took them into custody. On interrogation, they confessed to crimes. The police recovered 16 sovereigns of gold ornaments from them. CCS Circle Inspector Sk Babijan was also present.
