Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the programme of changing bed sheets with a slogan “Swacha Saptavarna duppatla maripidi” (clean rainbow colored bed sheets changing) through video conference at Government hospital here on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister speaking in the video conference stated that all government hospitals have started the bed sheet changing programme and each day one color bed sheet will be changed on the patient’s bed. He said that bed sheet changing programme will be implemented in 11 teaching hospitals and Eluru. Vizianagaram Government hospital in the first phase. Soon, this programme will be implemented in all the government hospitals, he added. He said that an outsourcing company will maintain these bed sheets.
The Chief Minister on this occasion interacted with the post-partum women in the hospital. Rupa Hemalatha of Eluru talking to Chief Minister in the video conference and expressed her happiness over changing of bed sheets in the wards. The Chief Minister questioned the postpartum woman about when she admitted in the hospital and how the doctors were treating, and about the maintenance of toilets and bathrooms.
Hemalatha told the Chief Minister that the medical services are extending competing with the private hospitals. “I joined five days back and the staff is maintaining cleanliness in the bathrooms,” she said Another post-partum woman R Prasanthi of Lingaraogudem in Eluru rural mandal said that the doctors and staff are working affectionately and the facilities in the hospital are better.
Hospital Development Committee chairman and MLC Ramu Surya Rao said that the patients are expressing their happiness over the services being extended in the hospital. District Collector K Bhaskar has strived for the development of the hospital and said that it should stand in the first place and be an ideal model to all the hospitals.
Endowments minister Pydikondala Manbikyala Rao, MLC and Hospital Development Committee Chairman Ramu Surya Rao, district Collector K Bhaskar, District coordinator of Health services K Shankara Rao, District Medical Health officer K Koteswari participated in the video conferencing inauguration programme.
