Amaravati: Communication Advisor to the government of Andhra Pradesh Parakala Prabhakar said the newly-introduced call centre has been receiving tremendous response with people lodging complaints on corruption in the official machinery without any fear.
Speaking to media on the review meeting conducted by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Friday on the implementation of welfare schemes like pension, Chandranna Bima and ration distribution, Prabhakar said that the newly- introduced 1100 call centre concept had been drawing good attention from the people who were coming forward to expose corruption as their names are kept secret.
Highlights:
- Parakala claims that people are exposing corruption in implementation of schemes freely on 1100 calls centre
- 3,000 people reported to the government on corruption
He said the government had made 52,000 phone calls to the people to enquire about the implementation of Chandranna Bima, 6.40 lakh phone calls on pensions and 9.50 lakh calls on ration distribution. Out of which 3,000 people dwelt on the prevailing corruption in the departments concerned, he said.
“Action is being taking on the complaint immediately and necessary action is being initiated against the corrupt officials. Presently the call centre is working with 500 seats and the capacity is 750 seats. Not only the people, the government employees, people’s`s representatives can bring about the corruption where ever found to the notice of the call centre. People can bring their grievances on any department to the call centre,” he said.
Referring to the comments of APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy who criticised the Chief Minister for conducting Nava Nirmana Deeksha at Benz Circle in Vijayawada, Prabhakar said that the people of AP would never forget the injustice meted out to them by Congress in the bifurcation of the state. It is not fair on any one to point out at the Deeksha which is aimed at infusing spirit among the people to strive hard unitedly for the development of the state, he said.
