Araku Valley: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced a combo of health and tourism and said Araku will be made into a health valley and will attract tourists on the lines of Kerala.

The Chief Minister said a training institution would be set for imparting hotel management and tourism so that the local youth could be absorbed in this sector

Addressing the people of Araku Mandal in the grama sabha through video conference from Velagapudi, which was part of his Nava Nirmana Deeksha, here on Tuesday, Naidu said his government will soon sign a MoU with Regional Research Centre and build health infrastructure centre and rehabilitation centre and offer best health services in the agency.

The health centre will increase institutional deliveries and optimise utilisation of the available health services.Naidu also launched Tribal Reform Yardstick (TRY) to provide health and development activities from one platform and sough t cooperation from all the government departments and announced that 125 per reimbursement would be given under NTR Vaidya Seva.

To augment the services in the agency, Naidu said a district level hospital would be set up in Paderu and all the hospitals in ITDA headquarters would be upgraded to regional hospitals. Stating that tourism would be developed in a big way, the chief minister said a training institution would be set for imparting hotel management and tourism so that the local youth could be absorbed in this sector.

After he was told by the ITDA officials that the cultivation in coffee, apples, strawberries, litchi and dragon fruit is being increased, the chief minister told the farmers to concentrate on horticulture products asked the officials to take steps to provide marketing facilities as agro- based products have demand globally. He said that he adopted the village by taking in to consideration its backwardness.
