Vijayawada: Doctor hangs herself, family alleges murder

A lady doctor allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her in-laws house in Vijayawada on June 7. The victim, identified as Sushma, had been working as a physiotherapist in Ashoknagar.

Her family members, however, suspected foul play and alleged that it was a murder perpetrated by her husband Sunil who is portraying it as a suicide.

Speaking to the media, the victim's family Counsel who has taken up the case said that the prima facie examination showed that there were bruises on the victim's body.

Even after two days after Sushma's demise, last rites have not been performed. The family members have been staging protest in front of the police station demanding action against Sunil. The police have taken Sunil into their custody and are interrogating him.
