Joint Collector Prasanna Venkatesh called upon people to exercise on a regular basis in order to lead a healthy life while participating as a chief guest in diamond jubilee celebrations of Kurnool Medical College (KMC) here on Wednesday. A rally titled ‘walk for health’ was organised from the KMC to Kondareddy Buruju.

Kurnool: Joint Collector Prasanna Venkatesh called upon people to exercise on a regular basis in order to lead a healthy life while participating as a chief guest in diamond jubilee celebrations of Kurnool Medical College (KMC) here on Wednesday. A rally titled ‘walk for health’ was organised from the KMC to Kondareddy Buruju.

The Joint Collector, College principal Dr GS Ram Prasad, Kurnool Government General Hospital superintendent Dr J Veeraswami and others flagged off the rally. Speaking on the occasion, Prasanna Venkatesh said walking is the remedy for obesity which has been troubling people of all ages. He expressed happiness over taking part in the programme.

He said that several students who passed out from the KMC are holding the highest positions around the world. The Joint Collector said that the KMC's name has to be enlisted among the other famous medical colleges in the country. The college principal said the rally was organised to sensitise people over health consciousness. The yearlong celebrations which started in the month of July last year will end this June.

On the occasion of the diamond jubilee celebrations, the veteran alumnus of the college would be invited and would highlight the history of the college and its services through them, he stated. The college Alumni association president Dr Venkataramana, Secretary Dr Praveen, vice-president Dr Sridevi and others participated in the event.
