He visited the local area hospital in Rampa Chodavaram and inquired about the health conditions of tribals of Chaparayi who are getting treatment in the hospital.Speaking to reporters on the occasion, Kamineni said that Chaparayi incident took place due to the gap in information and all the steps will be taken to make sure that kind of incidents does not take place again.

He did also inquire about the health conditions of tribals who are getting treatment in Kakinada and Rajamahendravaram. The doctors told the minister that 51 tribals from Chaparayi have been treated and sent back to their villages and stressed the need for changes in their food habits.

Speaking further, the minister exhorted the tribals not to adhere to superstitions and get treatment in Primary Health Centres and added that the government is taking steps to appoint community health centres. He lauded ITDA project officers and district machinery for responding swiftly after coming know about deaths in Chaparayi.

He admitted that doctors are not residing in remote areas of the agency and assured that the government will give more incentives to doctors who come forward to work in tribal areas.

He mentioned that primary health centres and sub-centres have been prepared to prevent malaria and seasonal diseases. He maintained that RO plants will be set up in the agency area with the help of solar power in the agency area in order to provide protected drinking water.
