After participating in inauguration of a CC road and distribution of Velugu funds to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at Gangavaram mandal in the constituency on Saturday, the Minister said that he would pay special attention on establishing agro-based industries and bulk milk collection centres in Palamaner constituency.

“There is an excellent potential for developing sericulture and horticulture activity in the constituency. To mitigate drought conditions, check dams and farm ponds will be built with the support of farmers,” he added. Stating that 2,000 km CC roads would come up in the district, he added LED bulbs would be installed in all villages.

He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who represents Kuppam Assembly constituency, which is adjacent to Palamaner, has focused his attention on developing Palamaner on par with Kuppam. The Minister made it clear that he would not allow any sort of labour migration from the district for employment and better wages. The government has already waived crop loans to the tune of Rs 24,000 crore despite facing serious challenges after bifurcation of the state.

Construction of Amaravati capital and Polavaram project are the major herculean tasks on the part of the TDP government and Chandrababu Naidu is doing a laudable job to complete these two projects at the earliest, the Minister said.

Referring to jumbo menace in Palamaner, Kuppam, Piler and Bangarupalem mandals, Amaranatha Reddy said that strict instructions were given to the Forest department to drill deep trenches along the borders of elephants habituated area for restricting their movements.

Admitting that the earlier efforts to control the movement of elephants by the Forest department have turned futile due to various reasons, the Minister assured that crop compensation would be paid to farmers accordingly. Earlier, he took part in Neeru Pragathi works at Konapareddi tank where he drove the JCB. The Minister also distributed Rs 30 lakh cheque for SHG
