“There is an excellent potential for developing sericulture and horticulture activity in the constituency. To mitigate drought conditions, check dams and farm ponds will be built with the support of farmers,” he added. Stating that 2,000 km CC roads would come up in the district, he added LED bulbs would be installed in all villages.

The Minister made it clear that he would not allow any sort of labour migration from the district for employment and better wages. The government has already waived crop loans to the tune of Rs 24,000 crore despite facing serious challenges after bifurcation of the state.

Admitting that the earlier efforts to control the movement of elephants by the Forest department have turned futile due to various reasons, the Minister assured that crop compensation would be paid to farmers accordingly.
