She along with yesteryear actress Vanisri inaugurated two-day national seminar on ‘Women Empowerment, Media, Cinema and Theater – Prospects and Challenges’ at KBN College in Kothapet, here on Friday.

UGC–Women’s Studies Centre of KBN College and Krishna University jointly organising the seminar. Speaking on the occasion, Rajakumari wanted parents and teachers to play a key role in shaping the life and careers of girls. “Women are fore front in all fields, but some issues are stopping them,” she noted.

She stated that survival of human life is with women. Calling upon women to serve society, she recalled the services of several women leaders like former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Sri Lanka former Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaru Naike, Pakistan former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and Union Ministers Susma Swaraj to the society.

“Women are still facing several problems from family members. Though she is working and a main pillar to her family, assaults have been increased in the state and country,” she lamented.

Rajakumari on the occasion advised girls to be cautious against the ill effects of social media. “Concentrate on education. Make goals and work hard to achieve them,” she said.

Yesteryear actress Vanisri suggested that girls hold on to their goal, despite ups and downs in life. She shared some of her experiences in film industry Krishna University vice-chancellor Prof S Rama Krishna Rao, SV University Directorate of Women Empowerment Dean Prof D Usha Rani, Doordarshan Kendram director M Vijay Bhagavan, KBN College principal Dr V Narayana Rao and others were present.
