Visakhapatnam: Two members of Special Investigation Team interacted with BJP floor leader in the AP assembly and Visakhapatnam North MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju at his office here on Saturday.

The MLA, who has been spearheading a fight against corruption, had submitted some important documents to the Special Investigation Team on July 22.

The two- hour interaction pertained to two acres of government land in survey number 13/3 which has been under possession of one Sanapala Sitaram in Madhavadhara area.

The survey number 13 has been divided into three parts-13/1, 13/2 and 13/3. Of these, two acres eight cents under 13/3 belonged to the government.

In his petition to the SIT, the MLA said Sitaram claiming ownership of entire 7 acres of land had filed petitions in High Court, settlement officer and CCLA. But all his claims were dismissed except the High Court.

Taking plea of the court, Sitaram sought permission from VUDA and GVMC to build a compound wall surrounding the seven acres of land. But he did not get any permission.

The MLA told the SIT members that he had written a letter to the joint collector on February 14, 2015 that two acres of government land was in the hands of a private person Sanapala Sitaram. Sitaram had sold 95 square yards of land and the proof was submitted to the joint collector.

`There was no action and it was shocking that no government agency ever filed a counter to Sitaram claims,’’ Raju said.
Though he had submitted several complaints, the government did not react. Fortunately for the first time the government reacted after a petition was submitted to the SIT.

In another development, Sitaram filed a complaint in Fifth Town police that eight unknown women were trying to occupy his land. The police registered a case against the women. The land under disputes is valued around Rs 50 crore, the MLA added.
