Officials told to expedite TT Sagar project works
Collector Vivek Yadav on Tuesday paid a visit to the Tarakarama Teertha Sagar project which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.
Nellimarla (Vizianagaram): Collector Vivek Yadav on Tuesday paid a visit to the Tarakarama Teertha Sagar project which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.
The project would provide water to 24,000 acres of lands in Nellimarla and supply drinking water to Vizianagaram town.
The Collector visited the channel works and asked superintending engineer D Tirumala Rao about the project details. Later, the Collector spoke to the locals of Saripalli who have been opposing land acquisition.
But they said that they are ready to leave their village if the government provide them alternative lands and houses for them.
The superintending engineer explained the progress of the project and hurdles.
The Collector directed the staff to complete the project in the stipulated time and directed special deputy collector BT Sundari to expedite the land acquisition.
