Amaravati: The new AP Police Headquarters located at Mangalagiri of Guntur district will be inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on August 16.Located at a distance of 15 km from the temporary Secretariat building in Velagapudi, the state-of-the-art new police headquarters, constructed in a sprawling five acres of land, belonging to APSP Sixth Battalion, is the second major government office in the capital region.

The AP State Police Housing Corporation Limited (APSPHCL) has completed the construction of the five-storey police headquarters in a record time of 10 months at a cost of Rs 40 crore. The centrally air-conditioned building is having all the modern facilities including canteens, reception halls, work stations and rest rooms in every floor where about 500 staff members will be working.
The police headquarters constructed in 1.1 lakh sq ft plinth area with hills located behind and overlooking the National Highway has been built with global standards where the offices of the CID and DGP will be located.
The G-4 structure with glass façade is provided with central air-conditioned system to ensure comfort for all the staff members at all levels. The other advanced features of the building include bullet proof glasses, CCTV cameras, high-end surveillance, biometric attendance and vast parking slot with beautiful ambience.
Speaking to The Hans India, Director General of Police Nanduri Sambasiva Rao said the new police headquarters at Mangalagiri is ready for inauguration by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday, in which AP CID and DGP offices will be housed.
“In a record 10 months time the construction of the state-of-the-art building was completed adopting latest technology at a cost of about Rs 40 crore.
The CID office will be located in the ground and first floors while the other three floors will be for DGP office, in which AP Police Recruitment Board and Training Department will be housed in the second floor and Law and Order department in third floor and technical services and offices of DIG rank officials will be on the fourth floor and DGP office and conference hall will be located on the fifth floor. In the ground floor there will be reception where a waiting hall has been provided for the visitors,” the DGP said.
“Our aim is to give friendly policing for which we have focused on providing beautiful ambience, where the people will also feel cordial atmosphere after entering into the new building,” he hoped.
