Kakinada Municipal Corporation polls witnessed 50 percent voting till Tuesday afternoon with 2,29,373 registered voters.
The polling that began at 7 AM today in the municipality had YSR Congress Party contesting in 48 wards, TDP in 39 wards and BJP in nine wards. The rest being contested by Congress and the Left parties apart from the 121 independent candidates contesting the elections.
Counting will take place on September 1.
