Teachers can transform AP into education hub: Chandrababu Naidu
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the teachers to play vital role in transforming Andhra Pradesh as an educational and knowledge hub. He said teaching profession is a noble profession and the role of teachers can’t be changed in spite of many technological advances made.

He said teaching profession is a noble profession and the role of teachers can’t be changed in spite of many technological advances made. Chandrababu Naidu was the chief guest for the Teachers Day celebrations conducted at A plus convention hall here on Tuesday.

Teachers from various parts of the state attended the annual event observed to mark the birth anniversary of former president of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Addressing the teachers, Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh is gradually emerging as educational and knowledge hub with many private universities setting up their campuses in the new capital and many central government institutions to come up in future.
The Chief Minister said that several private universities including 18 private medical colleges are coming up in Amaravati, which he said would emerge as education hub. Referring to education development in the state, he said the state government is improving infrastructure facilities and would construct as many as school buildings as required to promote education in the State. Naidu sought the cooperation of teachers in developing AP as an educational hub.
He said techies from Andhra Pradesh are doing excellent job in the Silicon Valley in the US and they are the top earners. He said this achievement was possible due to education and knowledge imparted by teachers. He said combined state of AP was benefitted with the Information Technology revolution which started in the 1990s.
Giving details of reforms in education in the state that, he said that he introduced counselling system for transfers. He reminded that teachers earlier used to depend on the Zilla Parishad chairman for transfers but due to introduction of counselling teachers are getting transfers basing on seniority and without corruption.
Minister for Human Resources Ganta Srinivasa Rao said meritorious teachers were felicitated for their services on the occasion of Teachers Day. Principal Secretary of Education Adityanath Das, Board of Intermediate Education Commissioner B Udayalakshmi and Special Commissioner of Technical Education GS Pandadas read the messages of President of India, Prime Minister and Union Minister of Human Resources on the occasion of Teachers day.
