Kurnool: The Adoni police on Saturday arrested 14 out of 17 accused on the charges of murdering Boya Nagendra and Boya Naresh at Victoria Peta on September 3. The accused were presented before the media in the presence of District Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopinath Jetti at Ved Vyas Auditorium here on Saturday.
Disclosing the facts to the media, the SP said that the deceased Boya Nagendra, a resident of Victoria Peta in Adoni, was having an illicit affair with the daughter of accused Boya Eeranna.
Despite of Eeranna’s warning to mend his behaviour, Nagendra ignored and continued his affair, he stated. The furious Eeranna hatched a plan to kill him with the support of his family members.
All of them contacted a killer gang of Pallepadu village in Kosigi mandal. On September 3, the family members of the accused and the hired killer gang went to Nagendra’s house and attacked him. Later, they took Nagendra to Low Level Canal (LLC) and killed him and burnt his body. The accused attacked Naresh, brother of Nagendra, with lethal weapons, who tried to prevent them from abducting his brother.
Naresh succumbed to injuries at Government General Hospital in Kurnool, the SP added. Based on the credible information, the police nabbed the accused at Yellamma temple in the town and recovered weapons used in killing brothers and a four-wheeler.
The SP said that a manhunt was launched to arrest three more accused. He appreciated Adoni DSP K Srinivas for arresting the accused. CIs Subramaniam, Chandrasekhar and G Prasad; SIs Subramaniam Reddy, Venu Gopal, Shankaraiah, Babu and Vijay and other police personnel were present.
