Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu declared that the coming Vijaya Dasami would stand witness for victory march of the State as foundation stone for Assembly and multi storied housing buildings will be laid on September 30. He stated that his government would not compromise on quality of the constructions in people’s capital Amaravati. The Chief Minister conducted a tele-conference with higher officials here on Sunday.
Highlights:
- Says capital should be a blend of culture and modernity
- Capital city designs likely to be finalised on Sept 13
- Foundation stones to be laid for Assembly and multi-storied housing buildings on Vijaya Dasami
On this occasion, the meeting discussed on capital city designs which are likely to be finalised on Wednesday.“The capital should be a blend of culture and modernity and there should be no compromise at any cost on quality of constructions. The master plan needs to emphasise on sustainability and vibrant professional as well as living environment.
As the design of legislature building has been inspired by Kohinoor diamond, the whole capital should be like a Kohi-Noor of the world. The High Court building and other buildings need to reflect cultural and modern aspirations of people,” said Chief Minister.
He opined that Amaravati can be called as people’s capital when it provides education for youth, health care for all and much needed employment for everybody. Hence, alongside administrative buildings, the capital should be home for housing, commercial and entertainment facilities, so that the employees and officers of government and private organisations could ‘walk-to-work.’ Chandrababu Naidu emphasised that the designs should attract investments, education and trade.
The Amaravati government complex that will be spread over of 1,350 acres forms the centre of the state’s administration, informed Principal Secretary Ajay Jain and CRDA Commissioner Cherukuri Sridhar to CM.It would also have place for houses of government functionaries like Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, judges, IAS officers.
The master plan covers provision of sustainable electricity and adequate water facility. The Assembly building will have a capacity of 250 capacity and council building a capacity of 100. The High court building has been designed on the lines of Buddhist Stupa and the shape shall be of triangular mould tapering to the top edge.
CRDA Commissioner Ch Sridhar informed the Chief Minister that the designs of constructions of capital have been made keeping in view that the facilities would be accessible for all the people of Andhra Pradesh. A contiguous network of public and private spaces has been planned for that purpose. The public spaces are meant for interaction of people with the government.
The government complex would also have a mix of green and blue - greenery and lakes that make capital a conflation of vegetation and water spaces. Sridhar explained that the major feature of the government complex master plan is Central Vista that extends from River Krishna in the North to Sakhamuru Park in
the South.
This grand civic space lends grandeur to the government complex as a whole. He revealed that the Central Vista would become a binding feature for the one square kilo metre super blocks from North to South.
Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar, Special Chief Secretary to CM Satish Chandra, Principal Secretary to CMO G Sai Prasad, Amaravati Development Corporation Limited chairperson D Lakshmi Parthasaradhi, CRDA special commissioner Ram Manohar Rao, Additional Commissioner S Shan Mohan and communications advisor Chandrasekhar Reddy were also present.
