Kurnool: The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths caught a corrupt Assistant Engineer (AE) of Electrical department at his office in Rudravarammandal headquarter on Wednesday. He was caught while accepting bribe of Rs1.95 lakh from thefarmers.

Speaking to media Deputy Superintendent of Police T Jayaram Raju said farmers B Venkateshwarulu, Y Srinivasulu and G Srinivasulu belonging to Peddakambalur village had applied for power connection and they also wanted to set up a transformer in the farm lands. Despite their repeated pleas to AE K Venkata Krishnaiah, he reportedly demanded Rs 1.95 lakh as bribe to give power connection and to set up transformer.

With this, the trio approached the ACB and lodged a complaint. Following a complaint, the ACB sleuths raided the office and caught the Assistant Engineer while he was accepting the bribe from farmers at his office in Rudravarammandal headquarter.
ACB officials registered a case.
