HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao orders probe into student's suicide in Krishna district

In the wake of a student's alleged suicide in Krishna district, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao expressed serious concern.

The student, Lakshmi Narasimha Murthy who is pursuing PUC first year in IIIT Nuzvid college committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling at hostel room on Wednesday night.

According to the reports, he took the extreme step following the immense torture from the seniors.

Meanwhile, the HRD Minister called up the college director to enquire regarding the same and ordered a probe into the case. Recently, the Minister is learnt to have held a cabinet meet over the rising cases of suicide among students.

Police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
