Amaravati: D GP N Sambasiva Rao, at a review meeting here on Monday in Secretariat, informed to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that 10 accused were arrested in connection with Krishna River boat capsized incident at Pavitra Sangamam near Vijayawada. Chandrababu Naidu directed the DGP not to spare any accused in the case.The boat accident took place on November 12.

Chandrababu Naidu met with a group of ministers and officials from the Tourism and Irrigation departments. He reviewed the reports submitted with regard to the follow up of the devastating boat capsize in Krishna River.

The inquiries were completed, and it was reported that the boat owners and organisers should be blamed for their negligence. There has been an interim government order released, allocating sufficient officials from the Fire department and APSP.

The order also allocates safety equipment to the boats at important ghats. Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials to make deploy personnel from Waterways, Police and the State forces and to tighten the security. “When the inland waterways start functioning for transport, there needs to be two angles: Waterways Management, and Security”, said Chandrababu Naidu.
