After cyclone Ockhi devastating the southern states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andaman Islands, there is a threat of cyclone to the coastal Andhra Pradesh with the possible forming of a depression over the Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours and making a landfall before December 8.

Visakhapatnam: After cyclone Ockhi devastating the southern states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andaman Islands, there is a threat of cyclone to the coastal Andhra Pradesh with the possible forming of a depression over the Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours and making a landfall before December 8.

With the most favourable weather conditions being prevailed in the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Meteorological Department predicted a depression in the next 24-hours. The present well-marked low pressure is intensifying into a depression will move towards south east of north Tamil Nadu and south coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The depression will further intensify into deep depression and move in the same direction, the IMD scientists said. The scientists further said the present predictions the deep depression will be intensified further into a cyclonic storm. However, at present there are no weather warnings on Sunday.

“The impact of the system will start on the shore is expected to be start from Tuesday. However, there are clear possibilities that the system may take quite opposite directions also. As the system is far away to the coast, it is only advance predictions only. Once the system intensified into deep depression the warnings will be released,” one of the IMD scientists told The Hans India.
