Pithapuram: The railway police on Tuesday identified the woman who had committed suicide by jumping before a running train on Monday at Gorsa railway gate near here as Sivajyoti (26), a housewife belonging to Yedida village.

The police said Sivajyoti who had an illicit affair with an auto-rickshaw driver Suribabu (30), took the extreme step along with her paramour unable to find a way to sustain the relationship.

She was given in marriage to Santosh, an agricultural worker. She developed intimacy with Suribabu who belonged to the same village as that of her husband. Santosh and Suribabu clashed with each other over the issue on several occasions.

Later, Suribabu married another woman. In spite of the marriage, he could not sever relationship with Sivajyoti. Suribabu who lives with family and children in Hyderabad came to Chebrolu, Sivajyoti’s parents’ place, on learning that she visited her parents’ house as she was indisposed. On Monday, their severed bodies were found near the railway tracks.
