Visakhapatnam: The administration of Andhra University will be installing 400 bio-metric machines across the campus soon for attendance of 13,000 students, faculty and other non-teaching staff, according to sources.
As of now, the attendance was being taken through bio-metric app with use of android technology. However, several mal-functioning reports have been reported with this process. Especially, due to poor Wi-Fi in several places on the campus, the attendance through bio-metric app is not yielding good results.
Taking not of this issue, the university administration has decided to install new bio-metric machines which work with Wi-Fi as well as through cable.
It is learnt that for every 60 students a bio-metric machine would be installed. Apart from arranging bio-metric machines, CCTV cameras, too, are being installed to monitor the movement of students and staff.
This bio-metric system is integrated with CM Dashboard and National Informatics Centre. According to official sources, 90 per cent of the project works were completed.
