Vijayawada: The development committee of Vijayawada Government Hospital has taken a decision to provide required basic infrastructure including internet and AC facility in the hospital.
The committee, which met on the hospital premises chaired by District Collector B Lakshmikantham here on Thursday, formally approved to invite tenders for emergency medical equipment in various departments. On the occasion, the District Collector instructed the officials to make repairs for fans and ACs which are in unused condition.
He also directed them to repair doors and toilets in bath rooms. The high-speed internet facility should be provided, he said and asked the officials to pay pending bills for sanitation staff and security guards. The hospital officials are suggested to order the required indent of medicines and other medical equipment in advance. He also asked the officials to inform him by sending massage if there is any delay in medicines supply.
The district should be top in all the fields, he said and asked the officials to bring to his notice if they have any problems. The district would be announced as anaemia-free in January, he said. However, the hospital development committee has taken a decision to appoint staff in emergency departments under outsourcing system.
Hospital superintendent Dr G Chakradhara Rao, Siddhartha Medical College principal Dr R Shashanka, other officials EE Praveen Raj, S Rajamani, K Sambasiva Rao, Hussain Bi and heads of various departments of hospital were also present at the meeting.
