Rourkela Steel Plant wins All India Inter-Steel Hockey Champ
Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) won All India Inter -Steel (Steel Plants Sports Board) Hockey Championship 2017-18 by defeating Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) by 2-0 in the finals at Ukkunagaram here on Thursday.
Visakhapatnam: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) won All India Inter -Steel (Steel Plants Sports Board) Hockey Championship 2017-18 by defeating Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) by 2-0 in the finals at Ukkunagaram here on Thursday. Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) P Madhusudan presented the trophies to the winning teams.
Speaking on the occasion, the CMD advised the participants to work hard on their physical fitness and skills and exhorted them to play the game regularly. He appreciated the efforts of the Sports Department and appreciated general secretary of Hockey Federation of Andhra Pradesh Niranjan Reddy and all the technical officials for the help rendered in organising the event successfully.
In the semi-finals, RSP beat JSPL 6-1 while BSP defeated RINL 3-2. Head of Sports MS Kumar presented a report on the championship. Chairman of VSP Sports Committee RV Rao, trade union leaders Gandam Venkata Rao, D Adinarayana and M Anvesh were present.
