Visakhapatnam: The all-party leaders here flayed the Centre as it ignored several protests againstDCI disinvestment. The leaders also criticised the Central government for issuing the Request for Proposal (RFP) notification for the appointment of a Valuer to assess the assets of Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) to go ahead for strategic sale of its equity.Urging the MPs of Andhra Pradesh irrespective of their political affiliations to press the Centre to roll back its decision, the leaders have decided to stage a massive protest in the city on December 27th against the Central government’s privatisation proposal of DCI.

A round-table meeting of all political parties was held at CITU office near Jagadamba Junction in the city on Saturday.
As per the schedule prepared by the Ministry of Shipping, the pre-bidding meeting will be convened on December 29th. Sixty days’ time will be given to the qualified Asset Valuer to complete the task.

The last date for receipt of documents is January 10th. The bidding proposal will be opened at 3:30 pm the same day.
It may be noted that DCI employees resorted to a three-day indefinite strike which was concluded on Friday. For the past one month, the DCI staff members have been staging a relay strike protesting the privatisation proposal.

The leaders of all party including M Pydi Raju, B Ganga Rao, R Nanaji Rao, KV Ravi, Seethal, A Daali Raju, Gopal Krishna and others attended the meeting.
