Sri Venkateswara University (SVU)’s Department of Economics has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rural Institute for Social Education (RISE), which will benefit the students to gain practical experience at field-level on various issues.
Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara University (SVU)’s Department of Economics has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rural Institute for Social Education (RISE), which will benefit the students to gain practical experience at field-level on various issues.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of SVU College of Arts Prof G Savaraiah has said that as part of Vice-Chancellor’s initiative in making every department to have more interaction with industry and to give practical orientation to the students, Economics department has come to an understanding with RISE.
This will enable the students to improve their skills in production, productivity, marketing and management wings. Head of the Economics department Prof K Santha Kumari explained that the students have to collect the data from various industries and present them through powerpoint presentation mode.
Apart from theoretical knowledge, these field visits will throw more light on the realities at the ground level, which will take them to further level of learning process. Keeping in view the vision of the V-C, the department is working on more such tie-ups.
RISE Director D Ramakrishna said that their NGO was getting international aid and currently undertaking various projects with which they are working with marginal and vulnerable communities.
They are focussing on sex workers, women and child trafficking, destitute, and jogini system among others. Prof M Chinnaswamy Naidu, Prof D Krishna Murthy, Prof A Padmavathi, Prof R Suneetha and Dr K Radhika were also present.
