Uravakonda (Anantapur): YSRCP Political Advisory Committee member and MLA Visveshwara Reddy has described the stony silence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on the centre's apathy towards the state as a gross betrayal of people, who gave him a mandate to extract the Special Category Status (SCS) to the state.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, the MLA said that while the state is beleaguered with protests from all quarters on the centre's raw deal to the state in the Union Budget, Naidu embarked on a political drama by making light of aggressive posture which only had adverse effect on the state's interests.

Taking shelter under a compromising stand, he only batted for a protest in the Parliament instead of walking out of the NDA alliance. The YSRCP MLA demanded to know why the Ministers kept mum at the Union Cabinet meeting.

Naidu, who first reacted with anger later changed his posture by soft pedalling the issue saying that aggressive posture would politically harm the state interests. Visveshwara Reddy said that political observers are unable to understand as to what Chief Minister is afraid of in the given political scenario.
