This was first phase of assistance from the State government to the victims, who died due to the cheating of AgriGold company.

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday distributed Rs 5 crore to 100 families of AgriGold victims as ex-gratia. Naidu distributed the cheques to the next of kin of AgriGold at Secretariat on Thursday. This was first phase of assistance from the State government to the victims, who died due to the cheating of AgriGold company.

The Chief Minister assured that he would help the AgriGold victims in getting their money from the company. Naidu warned that the government has been monitoring all such cheating companies in the state and will take serious action against law violators.

The government will recover all the money from AgriGold and will pay to the victims and the procedure was under progress, the Chief Minister explained. Naidu distributed the cheques of Rs 5 lakh each to Sk Mahaboob, P Adam, P Srinivasulu, M V Lakshmi Prasunamba and others.

According to sources, the government had identified more than 150 deceased families of AgriGold. The remaining amount would be distributed in the second phase, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.

The Chief Minister explained that they have been extending this financial assistance to give hope to the victim families. On the occasion, Naidu suggested public not to invest money in such fraudster companies and advised them to invest in banks only, where they would get assured returns.
