They presented Ambali to presiding deity seeking early rains.Gangamma Jatara is the most familiar festival in the Rayalaseema region and it will be celebrated in the districts of Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur districts in the months of May and June.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday,Jatara organiser V Deva said that there is a strong belief among devotees that goddess would bless their children with health and wealth and save them from all the dangers.

He stated that the Jatara will be celebrated for two days. Gangamma immersion would take place on Wednesday, he stated. The heavy rain on Tuesday evening has relieved the city residents from scorching heat.
