Visakhapatnam: As part of developing the City of Destiny as a tourist hub, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly monitoring developmental projects in the city directly. He is also focusing on more projects to enable the city to attract more number of tourists.

As part of the efforts to increase interaction between capital Amaravati and Vizag, the government has directed the administration to focus on CNG buses between the two cities replacing the diesel ones. For this, the government is gearing up to set up more number of CNG outlets between the two cities.

The government has also directed the district administration to promote battery operated traffic on the Bus Rapid Transport System in the city. The GVMC almost completed the BRTS project from Pendurty to Dwaraka Bustation via Kancharapalem and another lane via Hanumanthawaka Junction.

As the project almost completed the government now looking at the battery operated vehicular traffic on the BRTS roads. During in the past three-and-a-half years, the government pushing the district administration to make Visakhapatnam as a centre of attraction in tourism, education and hospitality industry, IT and ITES services.

The government has prepared a new project document to make nature blessed tourist stations Araku Valley and Lambasingi with more attractive. The government also directed the district administration to make proposals to construct star hotels under Public-Private Partnership in the agency areas.

The government has directed the panchayat raj, tourism and roads and buildings departments to prepare a joint project reports to establish villas, restaurants and resorts the between Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam. The government also informed the district administrations that the government is very keen to develop such projects under PPP mode.
