Nellore: Though district-level Mahanadu was a successful event giving moral boost to TDP cadre, but it failed to resolve dissidence issue where party leader Anam Ramanarayana Reddy did not turn up for the meeting in the wake of upcoming elections. As usual, he skipped Mahanadu citing personal reasons.
Ramanarayana Reddy, as an in-charge of Atmakur constituency, had to attend the district-level Mahanadu for representing the entire cadre. It may be recalled that Ramanarayana Reddy recently attended Mini Mahanadu in Atmakur and passed comments against Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy in the presence of another Minister P Narayana.
Party leader Adala Prabhakar Reddy and others were also present in the meeting. Again during Mini Mahanadu of Nellore Rural Constituency, Ramanarayana attended and made comments against the district leaders, especially targeting the Minister Somireddy. But, he failed to present during the main event on Thursday ignoring its significance which indicates his firm decision to leave the party, say analysts.
Even though former Minister Adala Prabhakar Reddy reportedly teamed up with Ramanarayana, he managed to explain reasons open and informed to party cadre that he wouldn’t be leaving the party at any cost. Prabhakar Reddy categorically said he is ready to contest the elections if the party directs him to do so.
“Two leaders from the district are having internal enmity and attitude of Ramanarayana indicates the rivalry with Somireddy. Adala is a neutral leader and hence he managed to get through the situation,” said a senior leader from the party. Rumours were doing rounds that Ramanarayana was upset with the assurances made after shifting loyalties from the Congress where Somireddy and Beeda Ravichandra played crucial role for mediation during the entire episode.
But, there was no development in fulfilling the promises and Anam was expressing his dissatisfaction over negligent attitude of party and the district leaders while extending invitation to Mahanadu. “A political family with a strong local background is now being ignored by the ruling party which is making disheartened. So, Ramanarayana is also keeping himself away from party activities,” said a senior leader.
