Amaravati: The information of beneficiaries under AP government’s newly introduced unemployed youth allowance scheme is going to be the single largest data bank for all corporate companies across India in identifying highly skilled and qualified youth.

The State government has been preparing the scheme in a systematic manner. Hence, the beneficiaries’ information itself is going to be the single largest data source.

The companies could directly avail the data of all the qualified youth, with a single click on their computer and could call them for the interview, without making efforts in searching suitable candidates for their requirements.

This scheme is going to have multiple benefits for both corporate companies as well as the unemployed youth in the State, since it is going to create a perfect platform for them.

As per the available information based on Praja Sadhikara Survey and other government sources, the unemployed youth in the State is estimated to be around 10 lakh. The sanctioning of allowance to the unemployed youth is expected to create an additional burden of Rs 1,200 crore on State exchequer.

Group of Ministers headed by Kollu Ravindra, Minister for Unemployed Benefits, Nara Lokesh and others tentatively finalised the modalities on the scheme at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

The GoM decided that there must be a dedicated website and mobile application for the unemployed youth allowance. All the unemployed youth who wish to avail the benefits under the new scheme should enrol themselves into the website by providing authenticated information and valid educational qualification certificates.

As soon as the youth enter their information along with Aadhaar number on the website, One Time Password (OTP) will be generated automatically. After entering the OTP on the website, the process of applying for unemployed youth allowance will be completed.

If the youth was rejected for the benefit, the reasons will appear on the website immediately. In addition to that, the youth also could solve their problem by calling 1100. The youth must enter at least three areas of their interest, while completing the online application. Based on it, the website automatically will send their information to the category of companies.

After successfully launching the scheme, the youth will be encouraged for apprenticeship at various corporate companies for skill development of the youth, based on their interest.

At the same time, the State government is also planning to link the State government’s apprenticeship programme with the Central government’s programme. Then the youth will get more money in addition to the State government’s allowance of Rs 1,000.

The youth must be in the age group of 22 to 35, should have a valid degree and they should be below poverty line. The State government estimated that for this new scheme, there will be Rs 1,200 crore additional burden on the public exchequer per annum.

Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh informed that the scheme would be implemented very soon. Before that they are going to place the proposal in the ensuing State Cabinet meeting.
