Ongole: The Prakasam district unit of Andhra Pradesh D Ed Candidates Association organised a rally from Anjaiah Road to District Collectorate, formed a human chain at Church Center, submitted a memorandum to the Ambedkar statue and staged a protest in front of the Collectorate, demanding that the Central government withdraw its decision on the appointment of SGTs in schools.
The candidates, Sk Asma, Ch Ahalya and others said that the Central government had passed a gazette notification that only B Ed qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the SGT posts.
They said that they are D Ed qualified and are preparing for the SGT posts for the past two years as the government is filling them with the D Ed candidates only. They said that they are awaiting for the state government notification for the same on July 6.
They demanded that the Central government withdraw the decision that will destabilize the lives of 1.8 lakhs D Ed candidates in the state who are preparing for the SGTs for a long time.
